Trausnitz Castle was the residence of the ‘Rich Dukes’ (the Landshut branch ofthe Wittelsbach dynasty). In 1475, the bridegroom, 20-year-old Duke Georg,had already been co-regent to his father and as such been involved in governmentaffairs.Today the castle is still the perfect setting for the colourful spectacle, wheremagicians, fire-eaters, musicians, jugglers and flag-bearers show their tricksand skills. With the castle commanding a spectacular view of the Old Townand the unique ambience created by the rambling castle grounds, guests getan idea of the atmosphere of the bridal pageant in the afternoon and theknightly games in the evening.
